This program follows the traditional sacred axis connecting Mendut, Pawon, and Borobudur, which scholars believe was once used as a ceremonial pilgrimage route. Theme "Cultivating Compassion, Wisdom, and Harmony with All Living Beings" 05:30 – Pick Up from Yogyakarta Transfer to Borobudur Area. 07:00 – Morning Reflection at Borobudur Temple Activities: Introduction to the philosophy of Borobudur Guided pilgrimage walk through the temple levels Interpretation of selected relief panels Silent meditation at the upper circular terraces Reflection on the path from desire to enlightenment Duration: Approximately 2 hours 10:00 – Visit Pawon Temple Pawon Temple is traditionally considered an important stop in the Borobudur pilgrimage sequence. Activities: Explanation of the symbolism of purification Short mindfulness practice Group reflection Duration: 30–45 minutes 11:00 – Visit Mendut Temple Activities: Prayer and meditation before the large Buddha statue Dharma reflection session Offering of flowers and incense (optional) Duration: 1 hour 12:30 – Vegetarian Lunch A simple vegetarian meal inspired by Buddhist principles of mindfulness and compassion. 14:00 – Fangsheng Ritual (Life Release Ceremony) Meaning of Fangsheng Fangsheng (放生) is a Buddhist tradition of compassion in which living beings destined for harm are released into a suitable natural habitat. Modern Buddhist organizations emphasize that released animals should be ecologically appropriate and verified by conservation experts to avoid harming local ecosystems. Activities: Brief Dharma talk on compassion and non-harming Chanting and blessing ceremony Dedication of merits Release of approved local species (fish or other suitable animals) Environmental awareness session Suggested Location: Progo River Elo River Certified conservation area in the Borobudur region The species selected should be coordinated with local conservation authorities to ensure ecological responsibility. 16:00 – Closing Ceremony Group sharing and dedication of merits for: Family members Ancestors Peace and well-being of all living beings 18:00 – Return to Yogyakarta Day 02: Check out & Departure Airport / Train station
